Mono Combined Installer
Construction Kit for version 1.1.8

by Francisco "Paco" Martinez <paco@mfcon.com> - Jul 03, 2005

Overview

Mono Combined Installer Construction Kit is itself an installation routine that extracts all of the binary and data files into the correct directory hierarchy in order to build right off a working redistributable copy of the Mono Combined Installer for Windows based on Mono 1.1.8, XSP and Gtk#.

Disposition

The Mono Combined Installer Construction Kit is meant to help the Novell corporation staff members tasked with the creation of the Mono installer for Windows with their transition into becoming the custodians of this process. It has been placed in a publicly accessible web site (Novell Forge) so that anyone interested in adapting this process for their personal use may do so.

Prerequisites

To successfully make use of this kit and build the target installer you must have a computer with Windows 2000 Professional edition or Windows XP (other versions of Windows 2000 Server or higher may be used). The computer must also have an installed version of Inno Setup 5.x (this system was tested with 5.07). Optionally, packagers may find The Inno Setup QuickStart Pack very useful. The Inno Setup QuickStart Pack includes additional third-party add-ons such as the ISTool script editor and Inno Setup Preprocessor. The Inno Setup kit and its associated tools are availble free of charge in Jordan Russell's web site at: http://www.jrsoftware.org/isdl.php
